FAQ

Questions.

What is a brand sprint? +

A brand sprint is a fixed two-week programme that ships a complete identity in one bounded engagement. It compresses positioning, identity design, and production into 10 to 14 days of focused execution, instead of the eight to twelve weeks most agencies take. The format only works when scope is fixed before kickoff, decisions sit with one person, and the agency is senior enough to skip the discovery theatre. We have shipped 60+ brands this way since founding POW.

How long does the Brand Sprint take? +

Two weeks of agency work. Three to four weeks of elapsed time once you include the two structured founder review windows. Run it back-to-back with the Web Package and you are live with a new identity and a launch-ready site in five weeks total. Full-scope rebrands at other agencies run 10 to 16 weeks, the trade-off is set out in our Funded Startup Brand Benchmarks 2026 report.

What does it cost? +

$15,000 flat. No discovery fee, no change orders inside the agreed scope, no surprise extras at the end. Fees are GBP or USD from a UK Ltd, your choice. For pricing context against the wider market, see the benchmarks report.

What's included in scope? +

Positioning, logo system, colour, typography, two brand applications, and a guidelines document. On the strategy side that means market audit, brand positioning, messaging, audience definition, and narrative framework. On the design side that means logo and wordmark, colour and type system, visual identity, social templates, and an asset kit. Everything exported, packaged, and usable the day we are done.

What's NOT included? +

Full website build, motion system, launch campaign assets, and internal rollout. Those are deliberate scope cuts that keep the sprint at two weeks. If you need a site, the Web Package runs back-to-back. If you need launch assets, ongoing campaigns, or motion, the Growth retainer picks up from $7,000 a month after the sprint.

Who actually runs the work? +

Charlie Simpson and David Henshaw. Founder-led, every engagement. There is no junior account manager between you and the work. Two founders with 25 years of combined creative leadership stay involved from kickoff to handover. Both led brand inside a $3.2B+ ecosystem before starting POW, including senior creative roles at Gala Games and Bitkraft-backed studios.

What's the process? +

Three phases. Define, create, ship. Define is async questionnaire plus AI-powered research, no workshops, with us running a competitor audit and persona mapping while you respond. Create is one strategy document signed off before any design starts, because rework at the strategy stage costs hours and at the design stage costs days. Ship is two weeks of senior creative execution, founder oversight at every stage, two revision rounds, delivered live and functional on day fourteen.

How quickly can we start? +

Usually within one to two weeks of signing. We run two engagements concurrently maximum, which keeps quality high and timelines tight. If you need to ship before a fundraise, a launch, or a conference, tell us the deadline on the first call and we will tell you straight whether the calendar works.

What if we already have a brand and just need a refresh? +

We assess what you have and build from there. Sometimes the logo stays and the system around it gets rebuilt. Sometimes the positioning is right but the visual expression has aged out. Sometimes a tune-up on tone of voice and applications is all that is needed. The sprint flexes to a refresh, with the same fixed scope and timeline.

Do we need a positioning hypothesis before kickoff? +

Yes. A working positioning hypothesis at kickoff is one of the three things that lets the sprint actually finish in two weeks. It does not need to be polished, it needs to exist. Even a one-line draft of who you serve, what you do, and why you are different gives us something to interrogate, sharpen, and ship against. We will help you stress-test it in week one.

What do we need to do during the sprint? +

Three things. Nominate one decision-maker on your side. Turn feedback around in 48 hours. Bring a positioning hypothesis to kickoff. Most founders spend less than four hours total across the sprint. The format breaks when feedback gets routed through a committee or sits in someone's inbox for a week.

How many revision rounds are included? +

Two structured feedback rounds, one on strategy and one on design. Strategy gets signed off before any design starts, which is the single biggest lever on whether the sprint finishes on time. We treat revision rounds as direction-setting, not infinite polish, which is part of how the format ships in two weeks rather than two months.

Can we extend or add scope? +

Yes, but not inside the two-week window. Adding scope mid-sprint is the fastest way to break the format. The cleaner path is to ship the sprint as scoped, then layer extra work on top through the Web Package for a site or the Growth retainer for ongoing creative. If you know up front you need more than the sprint covers, we can stack engagements back-to-back at signing.

What happens after the sprint? +

Most clients move into a Growth retainer from $7,000 a month. Ongoing brand stewardship, launch assets, ad creative, content support, conference materials, investor updates. Hemi is on a $75,000 per month retainer with us. We treat the sprint as the start of the relationship, not the end, which is how a brand stays sharp once it is in market.

Will the work look generic or template-y? +

No. The sprint is fixed-scope but the output is bespoke. Senior creatives doing original work, not juniors pulling from a Figma library. The format is what is templated, the brand is not. Look at Hemi, OSMI, Datagram, and the rest of the portfolio, no two look related.

Do you work with non-UK clients? +

Yes. About half our clients are US-based. The London time zone overlaps US East-coast mornings and Europe afternoons in a single working day, which lets us run a Brand Sprint with a New York or Berlin team without losing two days a week to scheduling. We invoice GBP or USD from a UK Ltd.

How does this compare to a longer rebrand? +

A sprint trades fullness for speed and certainty. Ten to sixteen-week rebrands at other agencies cover more, including motion systems, sub-brand architecture, internal rollout, and multi-market localisation. The sprint cuts to the 80% that funded startups actually need at the point they need it, then adds the rest through the retainer once you are in market. The full trade-off, with numbers, sits in the Funded Startup Brand Benchmarks 2026 report.

What if we need a website too? +

The Web Package runs back-to-back with the Brand Sprint. Two to three weeks for the site, five weeks total from sprint kickoff to a launch-ready brand and site. The brand system we build feeds directly into the website design, so nothing gets lost in translation. Pricing starts at $10,000 and runs up to $20,000 depending on scope.
