What is included in the Growth retainer? +

A senior creative team embedded in your workflow, billed monthly. Tiers run $7,000 to $20,000 a month at the standard band and scale higher when needed. Hemi runs at $75,000 a month. The retainer keeps the same studio that built your brand and site producing the work that follows so the system does not decay six months after launch.

What work does the studio produce each month? +

Brand and creative output across whatever channels you sell on. Social content, ad creative, motion graphics, pitch decks, investor updates, conference assets, landing pages, email design, video edits, illustration, and ongoing brand stewardship. The mix shifts month to month with your roadmap. We build a rolling backlog and ship against it.

What is the minimum commitment? +

Three months. That gives us enough time to learn your brand, build momentum, and deliver compounding output. After the initial three months it rolls monthly with 30 days notice either way. Most retainers run six months and up, several have run multi-year.

What does ramp-up look like versus steady-state? +

Month one is heavier on onboarding, brand audit, asset audit, content stack setup, and getting the team into your tools. From month two onward you are at steady-state output, with a weekly review call and a shared backlog. By month three the studio is operating as an extension of your team and most clients stop noticing the seam.

How do we scope the right tier? +

We look at your roadmap, your channels, and the volume of creative your team needs to ship over the next quarter. A pre-launch startup with one campaign a month lands around $7,000 to $10,000. A team running paid, organic, conference, and product marketing in parallel sits at $15,000 to $20,000. Heavy-output clients with multiple workstreams scale beyond. We size the tier at scoping rather than upselling later.

Growth retainer versus hiring in-house? +

A senior in-house designer plus a junior plus a motion contractor will land somewhere north of $25,000 a month fully loaded, plus management overhead, plus 90 days of hiring lead time. The Growth retainer gives you the same output band on day one without the headcount cost. When you do hire in-house, the retainer steps down or steps out cleanly. Most clients run both side by side.

What kicks Growth off after a Brand Sprint? +

If you have just shipped a new identity, the natural next step is rolling the brand system out across every surface. Growth picks up where the Brand Sprint ends so the system you just paid for actually compounds.

Who actually does the work? +

Founder-led, every retainer. Charlie Simpson and David Henshaw run the work with a small bench of senior specialists pulled in for motion, video, illustration, and copy. You get a single point of contact who knows your brand, your roadmap, and your stakeholders. No junior account manager between you and the team shipping the work.

What does response time look like? +

Same working day for Slack and email, often within the hour during the working window. We sit in a shared Slack channel with your team. Standard requests turn around inside 48 hours. Larger campaign work runs against a weekly cadence. Urgent fundraise or launch turnarounds get prioritised explicitly.

How do we communicate? +

Shared Slack channel for async work. Weekly 30-minute review on Zoom or Meet for alignment. Figma for design review and feedback. Notion or your existing tool of choice for the backlog. We adapt to your stack rather than forcing ours. Quarterly review calls cover what is working, what is not, and where to shift the mix.

What tools do you use? +

Figma for design, After Effects and Rive for motion, Premiere and DaVinci for video, Slack for comms, Notion or Linear for backlog. We work with your existing toolchain wherever possible. Final files are handed over in editable source plus exported assets so you always own the work.

How does contract length work? +

Initial three-month term, then rolling monthly with 30 days notice. The first month is paid in advance, monthly thereafter. No long lock-ins. The retainer is designed to stay because the work is good, not because the paperwork is sticky.

Can we pause the retainer? +

Yes, after the initial three months. Most teams pause around a fundraise close or a product reset and resume two or three months later. We keep your brand assets, content stack, and onboarding docs so the restart is fast and you do not pay to re-onboard a new team.

How do we ramp down? +

Step the tier down month over month, or move from full retainer to a smaller maintenance band. Handover always includes a final asset pack, brand system documentation, and a 30-minute walkthrough for whoever picks up the work next. No hostage situations and no asset lock-in.

Do you work with non-UK clients? +

Yes. Around half our retainer clients are US-based. The London time zone overlaps US East-coast mornings and Europe afternoons in a single working day, which keeps async work moving without losing days to scheduling. We invoice GBP or USD from a UK Ltd, your choice.

Should we run a Brand Sprint or Web Package first? +

Most retainer clients do. The Brand Sprint sets the identity. The Web Package ships the launch site. Growth then keeps both compounding instead of decaying. If your brand and site are already strong, we can skip the upstream work and start the retainer cold. We will be honest at scoping about which sequence makes sense.
